Partiture

A Partiture is an application for creating musical scores on the computer. The electronic scores have several advantages over the hand-written ones, because they have more aesthetic appearance, may be distributed freely through the Internet, and most importantly, can be sounded with a special software.

Tellingly, good score editors allow you to play electronic sheet music using the built-in synthesizers, which are often have the sound quality superior to a standard MIDI technology, which is used for sound synthesis of various musical instruments on the PC.
